Why I Use AI in Marketing (and Why Designers & Architects Should Too)

AI has become one of the most valuable tools in my marketing toolkit not because it replaces creativity but because it supports it. In Marketing for Design I work with interior designers architects and design build firms who are balancing client work business development and brand growth all at once. AI helps streamline the parts of marketing that are time consuming repetitive or intimidating so more energy can be spent where it matters most design thinking strategy and storytelling. Was this written in AI… um yes.

Okay let’s get real - no AI, just plain words from a woman who’s never taken a class in creative writing. AI helps. If you know how to use it, it will work wonders for you and your business. Designers are always going to be creative, losing that is not an option. I use AI to supplement my weaknesses, which is writing - can you tell? I also use it to track sales & marketing trends and analytics for very specific KPIs - KPIs that I could have missed with the loads of work a marketing generalist is to do on a daily basis. What happens when I have a clear view of the KPIs in a matter of minutes? I can make quick decisions for businesses and optimize campaigns - leading to better results.

So, let’s keep trying new AI tools and ways to implement them into small businesses, but not forget that AI makes mistakes, can lead to a confusing brand voice and can send you in the wrong direction in terms of leads. Pair a good marketer with AI, now you’ve got something!

As for using AI in images for interior design. Sometimes it gives me the ick, sometimes it showcases a really good designers strengths and I’m pleasantly surprised.
